Hi Michael, Thanks for your fast reply. I need to go out now but will try a new string when I get back.
I have a set of Medium Martin bronze strings or some Ernie Ball regular slinky nickel ones (no idea why I have these I don't own an electric guitar!) Which would be the best to try?
Thanks, Laura

Hi Laura,
The Martin bronze strings would be the best ones to try.

Hi Michael, I've replaced the string and it's a big improvement, thanks! I only realised whilst doing it that I'd never changed a string on a slotted headstock and am sorry to say it was a bit of a mess o.0 I needed to loosen the 5th string way down to fit the 6th string underneath it (there must be an easier way?!) anyway it's a learning curve and I'm very happy with my guitar

Hi Laura, That is good news! I was fairly sure it was a string problem. If you would like a replacement string, PM your address to me and we'll send one out. It is not easy to explain how I fit strings on a slotted headstock, maybe the photo will help. As you can see I always make the winding go on the outside of the string-through-the slot bit....and I keep it all very neat.....well I try... I also always string in the same sequence...bottom E first and then clockwise around the headstock....E >A >D >G >B >E I hope that is helpful. Shine On Michael
