Hi Michael.
After lots of research I've decided on the MM Blues as my first resonator. I've been trying to contact Robin at Busker for several days now (email and phone) without any luck.
I have a feeling he's probably snowed under in Wales but this money is burning a hole in my pocket and was wondering if you could let me know if you have any in stock and approximately how long it would take to receive once I've made the purchase.
Many thanks, Laura
Edit : forgot to mention I'm after the 14 fret model.

Hi Laura,
Welcome to our forum.
Thank for choosing an MM Blues. I am sure you will be very pleased with it.
I think that Robin is snowed under literally and metaphorically! The snow is pretty bad in his neck of the woods and that does affect phones and Internet connections. He is also snowed under with getting guitars out to customers.
I do not know if we have any 14 fret MM Blues guitars in stock, so you do need to speak to Robin to get that information. I will also try in the morning and if I get hold of him I will leave you a message here.
If we do not have one in stock, it will be arriving in the next shipment. Again, Robin has those details too.
If you have any questions about anything to do with buying or playing resonator guitars, or any other type of guitars, or anything music related, please don't hesitate to ask on the forum. If I am not around there is usually a knowledgeable forum member or two online who can help.
Keep in touch and let me know if you do speak with Robin before I do.
Thanks & best wishes,
Shine On Michael

Hi Michael, Thanks for the warm welcome and fast response. I've had a look around the site and there's really a lot of great information for a newb like me! Will definitely keep me busy over the next couple of months If I hear nothing back here I will try Robin again sometime next week - and sorry for the impatience, I just can't wait to get my hands on this! Thanks again, Laura

Don't worry Laura, sometimes the first contact with Robin can take some patience when there's snow etc, but I found it worth the wait. Let us know how you get on!

Sounds like a good choice to me. I tried on several months ago and was very impressed with it and it is affordable.

Thanks for the kind words Matt & General Savage.
Laura, I just spoke to Robin and he said he has heard from you and will be in touch later today. He was not snowed in, or snowed under, he was away for a few days!

Hi Laura, I spoke to Robin last week and he did mention that he might be away for a couple of days this week, given the snow issues it could just be that there are communication problems though! The 'phone is the best way to get in touch as a chat is always better than an email - I got a down the phone demo of steel vs. brass bodies and then nickel vs. bronze strings! You won't find a better guy to deal with. Hope this helps, Jules.

Sorry Michael, Our posts must have been within seconds of one another - yours wasn't there when I was typing out - didn't want you to think I was 'leaping in'! By the way have just put slide classics on my electric and they are significantly better than the Ernie Balls I was using - far more balanced - thanks for that! Jules.

Thanks everyone. Robin called me back this afternoon and he seems like a really nice guy, and very knowledgeable. I've placed my order so watch this space, I'll definitely report back on my first impressions! I don't think there is really any competition at this price range (certainly not in the UK). I was advised to save and get a National but I'd rather spend the next 10 years playing, not saving Laura

Hi Jules,
No problem....you weren't leaping in, I was pleased to see your message. I didn't think he was away due to the weather.
I am pleased you like the Slide Classics strings.
Thanks

Hi Michael. Sorry for not reporting back sooner. I received my guitar in really good time and it sounds beautiful and is very nice to play! I haven't had much time on it unfortunately as I've been busy with other things. However I had a good couple of hours playing the other night and have found one slight problem which I hope you can help with. As I said before the sound is excellent overall but I'm finding the Bass E string is really quiet compared to the rest. I thought it might just be my technique and the fact that I mostly play with bare fingers, but even when using a thumbpick I can't get that string to sound out - in fact it is almost completely drowned out by the 4th string when playing alternating bass.
I've considered simply changing that string to see if it helps but thought I'd ask here first to see if anyone has a solution.
Many thanks, Laura

Hi Laura,
Thank you for your kind words, I am always pleased to hear that people are happy with their MM guitars.
I have a feeling that the issue you are having with the bottom string is mostly likely to be because the string has unraveled and is dead. MM National Newtone strings are wound on a round core and very occasionally, I mean once in a blue moon... , they can unravel when being fitted or slackened off for shipping. If you have another string, any brand will do, that eliminates the problem, we can be sure it was the string. If that is the case we will send you a replacement string.
The problem is unlikely to be anything else. If there was a cone problem it would make the whole guitar sound dull.
Let me know what happens when you fit a new string.
I do apologise.
