I saw David Lindley with Jackson Browne & band two or three years back, in Sheffield. The band stuff was great but what really knocked my socks off was the opening acoustic set that Jackson & David did. I would have happily listened to that stuff all night - terrific. I went out and bought the excellent Brown/Lindley live in Spain album on the strength of that gig and it's a superb record. Lindley is ace.

I was lucky enough to see David Lindley and Ry Cooder - together with, I think, David's daughter on vocals back in the late eighties/early nineties doing an acoustic set. I was close to the front and it was a magical experience to not only feel the music but watch so closely - sadly I didn't pick up on much! It was, however, one of those once in a lifetime experiences - thanks to my Dad who took me to see some great artists like B.B. King, Rory Gallagher, John Lee Hooker, Johnny Winter and a very memerable George Thorogood on the night before my maths O level, he played for hours - I got a 'D' by the way! I was so lucky that he wasn't into Iron Maiden! Thanks for triggering some happy memories, Jules.
