Hi folks I took delivery of my Lightning back in May. My musical direction has since gone down another very rewarding path, but more about that on another post later on. For the life of me i can't remember what string gauges it shipped with. It was set up for open G and D with a bit of behind the slide fingering. Would it have been 13-56 or 15-56 as suggested in the booklet that came with the guitar? Strings are beginning to dull now so need to order up some replacements. Cheers Geoff

Hi Geoff,
Although I originally wanted to send out all MM guitars with 15/56 MM Newtones, We eventually settled on the 13/56, so that is what your guitar was shipped to you with.

Hi Michael Thanks would it be an issue if I put 15s on with the set up ? I think it might help me tone wise Cheers Geoff

Hi Geoff,
I prefer the 15 to the 13, so no problem at all.
Best,

geoff001, I think you may have pronlems getting hold of a set. Strings Direct haven't had any for weeks. Sheehans have a few in stock but you'll be paying over the odds for them. You could try ordering directly from Newtone.

Malcolm wants to send out minimum quantities, six I think, from memory. You might like to try Dave Mann Music (?) in Nottingham. They helped me out once when Strings Direct were nil stock. I don't believe that Strings Direct would be happy about this scenario, it's just a min / max stock situation aggravated by lead times I suspect.

Hi folks Yeah. I found out that strings direct are out of 15s. So I ordered 13s which I have at the moment . I've emailed newtone to see if they can supply retail . Thanks for all your replies and advice. I'll let you know what happens Cheers Geoff
