Anyone heard of him. I stumbled upon his videos on YouTube and almost clicked off them before even giving them a chance (the whole judging a book by it's cover thing). They're pretty entertaining and I definitely learned a thing or three!

I have. Enjoyed the video awhile back. The guitar is a ovation and I was surprised it sounds great IMHO. Never would have thought of an ovation for slide.
On one of the videos it says its Adamas Ovation which is their high end guitar, with a carbon fiber top, whatever that is, but it doesn't look like the models. You can see the controls, so its an acoustic electric in any case.

I stumbled across this guy as well and found his lessons and tips very informative and he has a great sense of humour. The guitar is an Adamas Elite TX and yes it does sound surprisingly good when played with a slide.

@ Dave Red -I could be wrong but I think that is a model with a spruce top, not the expensive one.

Listen to the music good people....not the guitar!!! The first time I saw Kevin Brown play he used an Ovation of some sort and he made it sound great.

I think it sounds great, thanks Gaucho for the original post.
I've now watched several of his videos on Youtube, but a word of warning - when I tried to access his website (I won't add a link but it's not a million miles from matt smiths world dot com) my protection software went nuts and wouldn't let me proceed for fear of "malicious software" and other nasties.

It's not a great website! I think his you tube is as much fun as you get!
