Hi all ;D Just listening to Skip James CD, Cypress Grove Blues. Flicking through the pamphlet that comes with the CD. I noticed that he was born 100 years ago today 21.6,1902, For me his best track is Hard Time Killin' Floor Blues, All the best Marc ;D

100 years ago! My granny was 100 in feb - still going strong. I'll ask her if she remembers Skip James or any of those greats next time I see her. ;D TT

Wow - that second You Tube is brilliant ! - what a voice - I tried to see when it was recorded - someone mentioned mid 60's, is that correct?

I don't know whose Skip James master that is. I know that Andrew Rose at Pristine has done a Skip James album, but I don't have it to make a comparison.

the Pristine Classical Skip James' album contains his classic 1931 recordings. I don't have it, too ( I have the Yazoo album), but the sound quality should be great. There must be some samples on Pristine Classical website which I listened to.
