I'm now the happy owner of a German Silver slide from Daddy Slide. www.daddyslide.com/A lovely thing and sounds great, though had some difficulty getting the order through the English translated website but that may now be fixed. Fat, smooth and sustainey! For me, better than brass which is in turn better than stainless steel. Your mileage may, of course, vary..

The German Silver slides and Hawaiian bullets are lovely. I have one that Jan made for me last year, and two German Silver slides and a bullet that were made for me about seventeen years ago, also in Germany. (No worries, I have moved this thread into Talking Blues.. ) Shine On Michael

....I got mine long before I had the Internet. I don't remember how I got in touch with slide maker in Germany in 1995. What did we do before we had the Internet. Shine On Michael.

Ah, just when I thought my slide box didn't need another... These Daddy Slide German Silvers sure do sound intriguing... my Continental sounds better to me with brass than glass. I just put in my order! (Had to go through the German website & use a translator... the cart didn't work on the English site) I will report back when it arrives with my impressions, hopefully not too long, Germany to New Mexico is a long way! Before the internet (and back in my drinking days) I was practicing my sidewalk smashed & ground bottlenecks with less than stellar results... now I have a sweet collection of Diamonds, Tribotone, Paloma Stone, Latch Lake etc... the world's a lot smaller than it used to be

You won't regret the 'splash-out' Danny ~ my personal 'arsenal' has whittled down to just two types of slide material now - bottle & lead crystal glasswise, anything that needs the required metal 'bite'.....my G.S. Daddy Slide Slide On! Ian.

Got my Daddy GS slide this last Saturday... it is a beautifully made piece, the size I chose 18mm x 59mm feels 'just right' for me. Sounds and plays great on the Estralita Single cone as well as the Continental Tricone Great job Jan! This piece has a much deserved place in my prized collection of slides

Jan made me two bullet bar, one is GS, the other one ? A new one he sent me. Both recessed end (for slants) and 140 gr. exact specifications I asked (and I am "pernickety") When he says taylor-made, it is really the case!

I've got my GS DaddySlide bottleneck & bullet bar last year, and everything was just fine from the first contact with Jan...
As I've got really thin finger (16mm diameter for the little one), I was more than happy to find Ian for the crystal glass & Jan for metal... Taylor made is what I need !
Since I've tried some slides cut in laboratory glass (it's quite thin: 2 to 2,5 mm thickness) that are OK for my fingers, but it's not more convincing than my Diamond Mike Dowling signature...

Sorry to bring up an old thread but just in case anyone is thinking about buying one of Jan’s slides but is on the fence I thought I’d add my two cents. I got a German Silver Daddyslide for Christmas and it is wonderful. I’m a right fussy sod but Jan remained patient and delivered the slide to me with my precise measurements and I’m very grateful. It is very smooth on the strings, the sustain goes on for days and the tone is, well, just different. Lots of clarity and warmth. I like it so much that I’m now saving up for another ;-)
Cheers Jan!
Best, Lew

Love my bronze daddyslide, using it on one of my stella parlors set up with 80/20s.
