Two weeks ago I was at Sore Fingers bluegrass camp in the dobro class with Mike Witcher, who was an excellent teacher and a great player.
When I got back I came across this footage of Mike onstage with Jeff Lang, an Australian guitarist & slide player that I'd never heard of, and I can't get this tune out of my head or stop playing this clip. Wonderful Weissenborn playing and I love the bit in the middle where they are harmonising. Enjoy:

Sorry, I guess this should really have been posted in the ' what are you listening to' thread. Hope someone liked it anyway.

Blimey, 45 views and no comments. This blew me away; I thought someone might have had a view on it.

Hi Steverb,
They are great players. I have known Jeff Lang's playing for a long time, and as a long time fan of Peter Rowan's music I have heard Mike playing with him. Thanks for posting.

There is a great (posthumous release) collaboration between Jeff Lang and Chris Whitley called "Dislocation Blues". At one time it was never out of my player! It's great to identify which of them is playing at any one time, sometimes simultaneously. All the more impressive because I think they were so far apart from one. another and sharing recordings via the internet.

I saw Jeff Lang in Sydney in 1998, and it was the first time I'd seen anyone play lap style live. I remember him being very good - I must have been impressed, because I did a couple of my tunes lap style at a hells angels gig a few weeks later. TT
