Rory would have been 64 today.
This is from a gig that I went to in 1972.....

I used to mitch off school and spend the afternoons playing subbuteo and listening to Rory Gallagher.Great times, I went on to be Welsh junior subbuteo champion, though my O levels did suffer! ;D

Michael, I knew exactly which gig that clip came from as soon as you posted it. I have a DVD with much of the rest of it too... I don't recall where I got it from, but since I have never practiced downloading- it must have come from the 'Bay (like the Beatles one) This is how I prefer to remember him. So very much of an influence on me too. Far too many anecdotes to relate.

This months Guitarist (as noted on previous posts) is out, and the pics of Rory's stuff is most excellent. There have been a few threads with Rory themes of late, and having also been a fan since late '70s, I'm now viewing him almost like a prophet. From his choice of guitars (still top notch 40+ years on), amps, even to mic'ing his reso's (he's so right of course). However, any reason why he doesn't seem to have used a dobro? TT
