Just discovered the wood brothers. Nice stuff. Someone gave me a couple off their album a few years ago. I don't know much about them, but I like their music. I guess I could know all I need, it's just a Google away. Shine On Michael I stumbled across a song called postcards from hell. Really funky little riff that is a wee bit awkward to play smoothly and I like a challenge. Lovely story to the lyrics too. They do a cracking version of make me down a pallet on your floor on the same album too.

I’m also going to throw Joe Pug Nation of Heat Ep into the mix. It’s 16 years old and clearly he was an angry young man channeling Dylan then. As soon as I heard it I knew he was playing an old guild dread too. Unmistakable sound and able to handle to howking he was giving it.

Mance Lipscomb - God Moves on the Water Stunning! I know this film well and it is beautiful in every way. I just wish the film crew had mentioned to Mance that his collar was sticking up. Paul Oliver told me that when he went to meet and interview him, that Mance drove Paul all round town showing him the gardens that he cared for. Paul said that he seemed more proud of his gardening skills than his music. He also said he was very sweet and wonderful company. Shine On Michael

Just got this on vinyl ...very enjoyable!! Amazing Grace is one of my favourite Fred McDowell albums. I have had the LP for decades and also have the CD, which incidentally has some extra tracks. The digital master was done well and sounds great. Shine On Michael

"Thanks Chet" by Robbie. It's just great.
Robbie is on a whole other level harmonically, and as an arranger, occasionally interpreter. I have just bought the CD online. I notice it's currently available as a playlist on YouTube, and I suspect that Robbie might make more from a watcher generating YouTube income for him by enduring the ubiquitous wilting adverts and compressed audio than he has done from my eBay purchase. That's how daft it has all become.

Catfish Blues - Jimmy ‘Duck’ Holmes
Had the pleasure of meeting Jimmy at his Blue Front Cafe on my tour of Mississippi in 2014. Nice guy. Pete got to play some harp with him too

This just turned up after 44 years. The late Bill Caddick singing a Bob Dylan song and playing his Duolian in 1976
