Johnny Winter has been a major influence to so many slide players, including me, so Johnny should have his own thread on Music Row.
Here is a clip of him playing at the Crossroads Festival a couple of years ago.

Johnny Winter's slide playing on electric guitars has always been incredible and I believe it peaked when he was playing with Muddy Waters. But his acoustic slide playing on National guitars is something else altogether - he really did cut some great tracks playing National guitars...
Here is TV Mama - from Nothing But The Blues...
And Bladie Mae, also from Nothin But The Blues....
Here is Johnny Winter playing with Muddy Waters - I Can't Be Satisfied from Hard Again....
And this is Johnny playing with Muddy again on I Feel Like Going Home from the King Bee album....

I've seen Johnny many times in concert over the years. Always loved his acoustic slide playing the most. Last time I went to on of his shows he looked very frail and was moving and playing quite slowly (still great playing though). I went home and googled him and read that he had been dealing with a number of health problems related to albino-ism and that he had out-lived the average life expectancy for people with his condition. That was a couple years ago and he's still going strong and touring constantly. Definitely worth seeing if he comes to your town!

Hi there !
Need to listen to those Johnny Winter tricone tracks when I get the chance. However, I'm familiar with the track "Dallas" he plays on his Tricone. Wow ! What a tone that guitar has - so FAT - compared to modern Tricones.
The album MM shows - I've seen it but never owned one. I call it the "Jim'L'Fix-It" album !
