I love this video. Look at Ry Cooder's body as he plays. He is possessed by the spirit of the music. He is on a higher level of consciousness as he plays. He is entranced - in an alpha state, the meditative, creative state.

That session pops up everywhere! BBC Old Grey Whistle Test - March 1973, filmed at Lime Grove, Shepherds Bush. The other and more famous performance from that session is the Vigilante Man. Wonderful stuff, thanks for posting it Toom. My brother, Alan, was the stills photographer on the Whistle Test at that time..... That's a fab version of Brownsville, I almost prefer his Mandolin playing to his guitar. Nothing wrong with his guitar style but his Mandolin playing is gorgeous.
