Hi Guys...through another thread it looks like there's interest in a Michael Messer slide workshop. There's half a dozen people so far, and I've suggested Barnsley as a possible venue, as members from Sheffield and Leeds have expressed an interest, and I visit there regularly.
Are there any other players out there who would be interested? We need to get a few more people on board for the 'critical mass' to get it to work in terms of covering MMs fee and expenses.
I organised one in Birmingham, and know that it's a great way of improving your playing, whatever your standard. Meeting other slide players also adds to the learning experience and general enjoyment.

As you know myself and Chris (AKA Longtoothslim) are interested in this workshop.

It's a "possibly". Any idea when it might be? Would it be suitable for a relative beginner to slide and how long would it last etc. What would it likely cost? Can you fill in some details for me please.

Hello smojo
I attended the west midland workshop at Sutton Coldfield...I would say that the skill level was evenly devided between what to me seemed like advanced intermediate and beginers. With little experience i was a tad nervous prior to attending but i needn't have worried as it turned out to be a great day. If you can make it go for it as i am sure you will enjoy the experience as well as getting to know some of the guys who frequent this forum.
Best wishes

Hi Smojo..no problem with beginners (or any other standard). Workshops usually run around a half day, cost £30-40 (this depends on how the numbers are working out). That's quite a bit of time for your money, when you compare it with typical guitar lessons. As for a date, that's yet to be setled on.

mirromist - thanks for your support. John - sounds good value. If it doesn't coincide with me being "on-call" I would probably be up for it. Thanks.

Hi everyone,
Thanks for all your support. I am just dropping into this thread to say....let's try and put a date in the diary for it.
