Hey Slidin', your man Jasper mustv'e been at the American Folk Blues Festival of '67 - I caught it at Hammersmith, most legends I've ever seen on one bill! (Little Walter was on it too, tho not on top form); House stole the show, as you might expect, he was still playing pretty good at that time - a memorable night, thanx for reminding me of it!..
regards,
Rick

Hey Rick! You lucky fellow too! Thank goodness we live in the age of video and DVD! My favourite I have to say is Fred McDowell,I have the 'live'CD that was recorded in his house in Como.Great to hear the kids and the dogs barking in the background! Feels like you are almost there! Yes,Son House should have been called 'powerhouse! Such intensity.I did hear the other day that Little Walter was quite an accomplished guitar player too. Regards, Sildin'

hello michael, firstly i have only just discovered you , like yesterday!!!!. i have been playing my big fat brass slide for 20 years, the same one, i play accoustic/electric , and have never found a better sound, great sustain etc. i do believe it is all down to individual dynamics. i have increasingly been asked to play purely accoustic, more and more, no electrics, it is a challange sometimes, you really have to project !!! by the way stokepoges lane was my hangout way back in the 50/60's , so, i could tell you a few stories!! the slough/windsor connection. the rickytick in pescod street, john lee etc glad to have heard your music all the very best ,jonnie webster

Hello Jonnie,
Welcome to our forum and thank you for the kind words. I would love to hear stories about Stoke Poges Lane & the Riki-Tik in Windsor!
I always used to use heavy brass slides, but I needed to polish them for every gig and after a hot night my left hand would end up green, so I changed to heavy steel. Recently I have been using a heavy glass slide and enjoying that. I am always learning and discovering.
Shine On Michael.
Shine On, Michael
