I hope to attach a pickup to my single cone resonator guitar in the very near future. I have been looking at Transducer Pickup, Does any one have any information that might be helpful, ie recommend a brand or recommend were to position the Transducer for optimum sound. Would any one advice against a Transducer Pickup!

Hey Pete!! I would recommend the Fishman Reso-pickup!! I got one in my single cone National.. I use the passive model and run it through a BOSS GE-7 preamp/EQ.. Works great and has a nice cone-tone! Listen to my guitar at my soundclick page: www.soundclick.com/bottleneckjohnSong: Rainin' outdoors.. Let me know what you think..

I find piezo transducers a bit clacky and scratchy unless you have a way to warm up the sound. Your choice for positioning is somewhere on the cone, which is prone to mucho feedback, or in the centre, where there is less feedback but the tone isn't as good.
Everyone has their favourite - I think the Schatten is at least as good as the Fishman (Les Schatten invented the idea of putting the pickup on the centre screw) and a fair bit cheaper. The best sound of all comes from a Highlander or (the English equivalent) Headway, but they're expensive.
