It's certainly a good buy for 68 quid. Ashbury is one of the house brands of Gremlin Music (retail arm is Hobgoblin) who are the current UK importers of Regal - hence the Regal connection.

A good buy indeed!
On the same note, someone also got a good deal yesterday on eBay:
Check out item number 260082872464: A 1929 style 3 square neck for £1087.91! For the buyer's sake, I just hope it's for real...

Re the Style 3: read fellow member Bill Stig's comments in the "Which hand-built resonator?" thread. Looks v. fishy! I also emailed the seller and got a Buy It Now price of £2200 - still too good to be true...

cheers Pete, I'll let you know what it's like when I get it, he's bringing it round this afternoon - how's that for a good deal - fingers crossed. Not too much of a gamble at that price and it gives me some breathing space before parting with wads of money.
The National tricone - what would worry me is the seller has no feedback.

It was good fun though, knowing I was waisting the scammer's time. Hopefully it stopped somebody else falling for it. It'll be interesting to see if it comes back on ebay. Funny though, I did tell ebay of my concerns before I bidded for it but ebay didn't take any action. Good to see Smojo got a good deal though. Bill

I got my Ebay bargain this afternoon - how about that for service - delivered personally. It's a great little guitar too considering the price., It's finished in some sort of "antiqued" varnish - basically looks like you tried to paint it with old varnish that was too thick so it has a sort of uneven surface. Doesn't really convince you close up but looks nicely worn in from a distance. Got a decent tone and volume too. Strings are a bit light so I'll change them out. It's tons better than my cheap flat top I've been using. I can stop searching and dreaming of now and get on with some practice. By the time I have saved up for something better I might be able to do justice to it.
