Hi Michael Are there any plans to make a vol 2
I would imagine that there are a few of us out there who are not so conversant with the old players and some song breakdowns would be good for us, stuff like jitterbug swing etc, I am interested in the right hand and the bass lines which as I rule I am finding a bit tough to synchronies, not just that tune but a bunch of them, so a DVD like that would be great thanks Dave

Hi Dave,
There are plans to make a follow up film to the beginners slide, 'Son of An Introduction to Blues Slide Guitar', and it is always interesting for me to hear from people about what they would like to learn from a tuition DVD. We have no schedule yet, but I hope to do it next year.
I have been thinking of trying online Skype lessons, but at this time it is just an idea. I have some friends in the US that do it and it works well.
Shine On Michael.

Hi Michael, I notice that a certain well known guitarist/ teacher (his name rhymes with postman) is proclaiming his new lesson and tab download system which runs through the 'new MOD machine',(whatever that is). It appears one has to open an account with credit card details, then you can download instantly to your hard drive. I cannot see how this differs from buying a download from, say Amazon, but I wondered if it was worth you checking it out for ideas for your lessons.

Thanks Frank. I will have a look at Stefan's website (sorry I could think of a good rhyming word). There is a company called ArtistWorks offering a similar service that also looks very interesting.
Thanks, Shine On Michael

Hi Izzy I wasn't talking about the content of Stefan's DVDs, I know they are always good, I was just wondering if his new download system would be of interest to Michael. As you have used the new system, I would be interested to know how you feel it compares to having the actual DVD through the post, and does it cost the same.
Obviously you don't pay for postage and packing, and you don't have to wait for delivery, are there any other advantages or disadvantages? I must admit I do like having a DVD in case my computer blows up!!
I would be interested to hear your thoughts

Frank: As with everything there are advantages and disadvantages. The download version costs about 5 USD less than the hard copy, no shipping, and you get immediate gratification (and don't we all love immediate gratification?). The system is very easy to use, and since it is downloaded to the computer, it is always there for use. The hard copy DVD is what we are all used to, and it is probably a dying format. At some point all media content will be online and downloadable. the DVD and CD format will go the way of the floppy disc. So, it really is a matter of personal choice. I hope this answered your question, and if not, just ask me for clarification.

Izzy, when you have downloaded the lesson to your hard drive are you then able to copy it to a disc or memory stick as backup, in case your computer were to die, or to put a copy onto a second computer/laptop? If you can do that then it seems as good as, if not better than, having the DVD.
