HI ...... can anyone give me a bit of advice out there about what type of cable I need for linking pedals\effects units together in a chain. I have bought a set of ' Patch ' cables from Thomann, these have ' audio cable' written on them .......... is it guitar cables I need?.
regards

Your "Audio" cables will be just fine, for myself though, Award-Session every time! Sadly you cannot order over the telephone any longer. Humans have been squeezed out yet again! www.award-session.com/award-session_cables.htmlNo connection etc, but I do live two doors down from his cousin ;<D Does anyone know if or where one can acquire "Boss" patch leads? Googling seems to draw a blank.

If you have a passive piezo pick-up have the shortest lead posible between guitar and pre-amp. Piezos hate long leads. Pete T

I'm a fan of award-session cables too. You can get them any length and with any combo of ends, silent, angled etc Not sure about Boss ones though I got a few that came with the bcb60 boss pedalboard that seem to work well

Thanks for replies Honey boy the set i got from Thomann look exactly like the ones illustrated.......... the only problem is, they seem to go into he Boss pedals and the Bheringer ultragain okay, but when I try putting them into my Digitech vocalist Live they seem to not want to go in, you can can push them in but its with some force . I am worried that i might be doing some sort of damage to it, whereas a guitar lead seems to go in no problem.
I will check out the other makes.

Hi there !
I also agree with the thumbs up for Award-Session EXCEPT they diddled me on the postage fees. Its so much for up to £50 worth of goods, then so much extra, for over that. My order went to about £51.50 or something so I had to pay the higher postage fee. When I received the goods (5 sets of cables, some extra long), they were not even boxed - they were just in a large bubblewrap envelope. The amount on the postage sticker, on the parcel was less than the Postage fees for orders under £50. So I was charged about £5 or £6 more than I should have been. I'm using my memory for things I ordered last year - so might have got the amounts slightly wrong - but it was definitely around £5 overcharged I think.
I just went onto their website to try and "re-order" what I got last year - to see what the total price would come to. However, they seem to have changed their website a bit - and its much more difficult to understand and see what you are after. Either that or they don't offer half the things I bought from them any more.
I ordered :
1x 1m long mic lead XLR-XLR - with a right angle connecter at the mic end 2x 10m long Balanced jack-XLR cables 1x 12m long mono jack-mono jack cable 1x 1m long jack-speaker spade connecters (for guitar amp output to internal speaker terminal connection)
Most of that list I can't even see available on the Award-Session website, as it is now. Most are quite difficult to find anywhere else too !

Shhhh! or canny Stewart will get the idea that there is a ready market for bespoke boxes to go with the bespoke cables.
