A couple of days ago I took delivery of a new Busker Delta. It's a cosmetic second (for which read, 'more aged than usual') so I got it for a very good price.
Before sending it Robin told me that he had been playing it in his garden in Open G and commented on what a great tone it has. Well, he wasn't kidding - it's scarily good! It's so good it almost makes me sound like a half decent slide player. It's got that raw delta sound to the core, but with an incredible natural reverb, particularly on the high D string and loads of overtones, which I wasn't really expecting with a single cone and steel body. And all this before it is properly played in!
What's also great is that it is such a good contrast to my John Alderson Delta tricone, which has a much sweeter tone and sounds fantastic in Open D and DADGAD. I can now take a reso down my local pub jam session without worrying about it getting ding-ed, since anything that hits it is likely to come off worse and, in any case, more scars just add to the aged look.
I seriously cannot believe how well made and what fantastic value the Busker and MM guitars are. The set up is, of course, spot on. And of course the personal service you get is superb (eg Robin dispatched it without waiting for my cheque to clear).
My biggest problem now is working out when/how to tell my dearly beloved wife that I've bought another guitar!

I absolutely love my Delta! Its got better and better and better in the 6 months that I've had it. There really hasn't been a day go by when it hasn't been played. I have a big collection of guitars, and the Delta is the only one that "AIN'T FOR SALE!!!!!"
So Steve, I can understand your joy at owning this guitar!
ENJOY!!!!!!!!
Regards.
Rich.

I was talking to Robin last night and he told me that my Delta is actually the same guitar as a MM Blues special but with a different headstock logo (see Blues with Bound Fingerboard in Main Street). So if any of you are thinking of getting one of those I would say, go for it in a heartbeat. If they sound anything like mine you surely won't regret it.

This was a mistake at the workshop; some MM BLUES specials came in with Busker headstocks, so they are MM BLUES DELTA SPECIALS ....collectable in a decade or two!
The Delta has in fact been discontinued as the designs became so similar, and we now only order MM BLUES guitars.
