I don't think I have ever said that I have stopped playing my Fine Resophonic koa single cone guitar.
As to your second point - I would prefer to have one really good instrument than a few average ones. I think the less guitars you play, the better you play. The more you focus on one instrument, the more you get to know everything about that instrument and how to make it work for you.

So sorry Michael, my question was whether Kluson had stopped playing HIS Fine Resophonic. There was a thread about him giving up playing it, or something

hiya , yes I did stop playing slide for a while, I needed to regroup my mind about slide, I went back to the Les Pauls. I sort of lacked inspiration and motivation. I was also playing in a rock band which was taking up my time.. I guess the biggest problem was the disappointment of not being able to play it as well as say the rock stuff I play, I had forgotten that it took me ages to mass all those licks and nearly all of them were stolen from someone else and put onto my memory bank. I always loved the sound of the Nationals I had heard on the odd record but I didn't know enough about the roots of the blues , the players the licks etc etc, even though I had probably got plenty of tem already just louder and called rock, I really hadn't got to grips with what I wanted to play. I felt a bit alone with it. I still played the reso from time to time, but not really with any level of concentration. I wouldn't sell it as it was apresent from my Wife and I was sure I was going to go back to it at some time Then I found Michael's teaching DVD which of course started me off again. I'm back on the trail of the Blues, Clive B a member of thos board is going to educate me with his vast collection of Blues and there you have it. Sorry for the confusion and I hope you accept my confession. Sorry for the long post but there could be some good advice in it for someone else starting out. Give yourself time ......Have a great deal of patience , even if you are a reasonable player of other genres of guitar, stick with the finger picks... yes I know they're a pain above all have fun all the best Dave
