I think I'm gonna throw up. I just learned today Regal Guitars have discontinued thier Triolian RD-3 Models. They were discontinued about 2 years ago! I read about Mike Messer's supportive review, and thought I'd throw a post out into the wild blue yonder to see if anyone has any suggestions. I was planning on buying a roundneck. Primariliy Because it was such an exceptional value, as I'm working on a serious budget, plus I have smaller hands. I can work most guitars pretty well, but those which have smaller necks, like the Regal Triolian, are worth thier weight in gold to guys like me. It makes ALL the playability difference. I can focus more on what I want to say (play) , instead of trying to figure out how to play what I want to say, then say (play) it. The extra effort is poured back into conveying emotion, not spent working the neck. (sigh) Anyone (Mike?), have any suggestions? Think Regal would make one special Triolian juzz fo' little ole me? I'm afraid I'll never find one used or in striking distance now that they are out of production. Leaves me kinda... desperate. Thanks all... - Tags

Hi Tags, Welcome to our forum. Please don't throw up, and if you do......not on my forum PLEASE!!! The obvious suggestion would be to hunt down a second-hand RD-3. I would recommend talking with Ron at www.resocentre.com and with John at Resound at www.resound.uk.com. Also leave a post on our TIN CAN ALLEY section, you may well find one of the forum members has one for sale.....it's worth a try! Shine On, Michael.

Don't despair there are plenty of decent budget Triolian type guitars out there. I have been using one of the most common, an AXL otherwise badged as Johnson bottle slide. Its a bigger body but is VERY loud. I'm also selling it coz Ive bought a National and need the cash. Also my local guitar shop up until recently had a Regal RD-3 in stock. I've got to go and see them tomorrow so I could check and see if it's still there.
Drop me a line on dhopewell@heneb.co.uk if I can be of assistance
Dave

Dear Mistercanetoad,
Many thanks for the lead. I'm relieved it's still available. And that there are probably other regal tri's out lurking there behind the scenes. I will be sure to drop them a line asap. Again, I really appreciate the lead. Can't wait!
Cheers! (medieval feathered-hat tip and tilt, single hand rolling gesture)
