Just a note to say thanks to Gerry C, Steverb, AndyS, Ian, Lucy & Tom, and everyone else who came out to see us on such a cold January night in West Yorkshire. It was wonderful to see such a good turn out. Much appreciated. What a great club! Lucy Zirins sat in with us for one song, Shine On, and she sang beautifully. Not bad for a 2 minute rehearsal in the break. Well done Lucy - you nailed it Shine On Michael.

Thanks for posting that. I recorded that song with the great Ruby Turner singing the backing vocals and the free stuff on the end tag. Of course Ruby did a superb job. That recording of Shine On is one of my favourite tracks that I have recorded. But Lucy, with no rehearsal (apart from 2 minutes we grabbed in the break) absolutely nailed it! The harmony is spot on, and so is the phrasing. Getting two voices to sit tightly together on a chorus can take some doing, especially when the two singers have never sung together before. But not in this case - very cool indeed! Nice one Lucy Shine OnMichael

It will boost lucy's confidence no end to be playing with you. A great wat to help and introduce some nice up and coming blues talent in our midst... MM school of the blues, introducing new talent at every gig. Great thing to do and be seen to do.

Thanks Michael for a great gig, and yes I agree that Lucy did a sterling job on "Shine On".
Not a bad venue really the Keighley Blues Club. Theres a lot of stuff going on up here within thgis area, we also have the Bronte Blues Club, and I found out on Friday that someone is starting one up in Skipton.
Trouble is the first night is during half term in February when I will be away.
I'll find out more about it and maybe post a thread about it.
Top gig on Friday, and great to meet up with a few folk as well

Just to add my thanks for a great gig to MM and Ed. Best Beloved has not seen you live before and was most impressed, despite being whacked at the end of the school week. Oh and that wee lassie that sang with you was OK too... ;D ;D
AndyS, can you let me know where & when the Skipton gig is? PM or phone if poss. Ta.
Cheerily,
Gerry C
