Hi Michael, It was the 'partnered jams' that I was thinking of needing a little rhythmic accompaniment, just a little help for those with slightly less confidence. Something to play over for a bit. No reason why that rhythm shouldn't be supplied by other sliders. I know from some of the emails that I have had that some attendees have not been playing 'bottleneck' for very long. (Still not to long sinvce Christmas). I will be quite happy to sit in with a beginer or two and supply a steady pulse if I get the time. Perce

I am looking forward to hearing everyone play. I don't mind what level of players people are, I just like to see everyone get involved and play. There will be a lot of sliding on Saturday!
I am looking forward to hearing everyone play, and very much looking forward to the evening concert hearing Lucy Zirins & Tom Doughty do their stuff. Looking forward to playing a set with Ed Genis too!

Beem a bit remiss last couple of days (Best Beloved's dad in hospital, fortunately nothing serious, in the week after BB broke her wrist on the ice!!!) but I'm really looking forward to jamming, open-mic'ing, hangin' wit ma homies etc. The provisional wing of the Yorkshire Heavy Slide Brigade (aka the 62nd Foot-in-Mouth) is travelling down Saturday morning with an Astraful of lovely guitars and even lovelier guitarists... ;D ;D
Can't wait!
Cheerily,
Gerry C

Point taken re the 'non slidey instruments' Michael. Bringing my harps was only a suggestion to add (very) occasional variety. I have every intention of spending the vast bulk of my time learning what I can (and enjoying what I can't) about playing slide.
Getting pretty excited about this now.

Hi Guys and Gals.... (I'm in my seedy balding bingo caller/compare mode now),
For me its the lull before the storm. Pulled me back lugging the twin about, but other than that, unlike anything else I have ever been left in charge of, everything seems to be shockingly well organised.......? There is bound to be something. See you all tomorrow. Drive safely, Perce

Tongue firmly in cheek here, but whats to stop us being swamped by a bunch of militant trombonists demanding a floor spot at a "SlideFest"!!!? ;D

Off topic, but seeing as theres going to be many of us with slides virtually permanently attached to digits this weekend, anyone got a good collective noun for a large group of slide players?
A "Vibrato" of slide players perhaps
Or a "Shimmer"?
