Way too expensive, that's a Johnson with another name... However, if you can find an older Continental, before they started makin' them in China, you'll have a very different instrument! They were really nice back in the 90's..!! Amistar bodies and necks from Japan etc..

To be more correct - that Continental is actually an AXL guitar. When I said no better than a Busker, I really meant that for 500 GBP you won't buy a better Tricone than a Busker.
Early Continentals were pretty good, but they are the same as Busker guitars. Sam Mitchell had one and Homesick Mac has one.

The guitar looks nice, but 1500 euros......too expensive for me.
Made my choice.....it's going to be a Busker tricone ;D
These guitars look great and almost can't wait to have one.

Yes, it's definately going to be a Busker! I can get a Busker tricone with some minor scratches on the back of the body. Robin pointed out this imperfection and want's too send me some pictures of this mark, but the whether is not good. The effort he is taking to make these pictures. Great! The only way to clearly see these scratches is from a photo made in daylight. He already sended me some pictures made with and without flash. Great service!!!!

Instead of a Busker I can also buy this one under 1000 euros.

The guitar you are looking at is identical to a Busker Tricone. Same body factory, same neck factory, same cones factory. The only difference is that it is treble the price. Busker has sold one or two German Silver Tricones at around half the price of that Continental. 1500 Euros is way overpriced.
I can tell you something else about the Continental Tricone; I supplied the original Continental company with the measurements and details for building their Tricones. After Continental collapsed a new company started up using the same body designs and parts, and this is the small workshop in China that manufacture Busker, MM & Republic guitars. So it came full circle and 20 years on I am designing their guitars again.
There was a lot of 'Chinese Whispers' about Continental guitars back in the early 90s. The general opinion was that they were manufactured in Europe and somehow were connected to the newly formed Amistar company. As far as I know Continental guitars were manufactured in Shanghai by workshops that came under the umbrella of AXL. Amistar was started with Continental bodies. I believe there was a hundred or so bodies left over from a shipment and Amistar put necks on them.
My MM guitars, Busker and Republic, still use Continental cones - made in Shanghai.

Shine On Michael. Hi Michael, This tricone is for sale for an amount of 995 euros. It's an older tricone then the one I first had a look at.
