Hi Whathe,
Welcome to our forum.
Yes I can identify your Dobro, but I do need to see it. There have been a couple of threads about loading pics on to this forum, go to search and you'll find them.
I look forward to seeing your guitar,
Shine On, Michael.

I think it's a Model 90/Duolian from the early/mid 70's, based on the body/coverplate combo. However, the catalogue pics I have show a slotted head on this model. So...... it could also be a 33H, which has the same etching with a flat headstock, but normally had a regular Dobro 4 sunburst coverplate. Anybody got an early 70's catalogue?
There should be a serial no. on top of the headstock. If you post that it can be dated to the month.
By the way, does it have a biscuit or spider cone?
Aloha, Colin Brooks

Hi Colin, thanks for the info. The serial number stamped on the head stock reads 01140. I have never had the guitar apart so I'll check out the cone and add some more pics. Thanks again. wt

As Colin Brooks says, it would be a model 90 if it had a slotted headstock. With this headstock and round neck/national cone, it is indeed a 33H. Here is a scan of two pages from the Dobro 197? catalogue. Sadly the brochure has no date, but, as you see from the price list, they do list the 33H with round neck, peg headstock,a National type cone and coverplate. The Dobro set up is 33H-1 and Dobro with a square neck is 33H-S Stuart, (marshcat) has given you the dates, so...problem solved! Aloha Colin McCubbin

Hi Colin,
This catalogue is late seventies - 77/78. I got my copy in the case with my brand new Model 33H in 1980. Also in the case was an instruction leaflet explaining how to care for your Dobro. I know I have it somewhere, if I can find it I will put it on the forum.
Shine On, Michael.

Michael,
Did you get the UK pricelist with yours? If so It would be interesting to compare it with the US$ I have.
