Hello Michael!
I have just bought a second hand tricone but cannot trace any information on its background, despite a call to the Resonator Center in London.
The headstock decal looks just like the National badge and has the word Resophonic in caps, split Reso at the top and phonic in th bottom. Across the centre of the badge is the word Cacophone.
I'm not unhappy with this guitar and I did not pay an enormous amount for it, for a copy.
I would just be interested to know if you or anyone else has heard of this, from amongst all the copies there are out there.
Thanks
andy

I have a wood bodied single cone mandolin with a headstock decal that sounds similar to yours..
If you can, please take some pics and either post them here, or, email them to Michael or me via our websites then we can take a closer look and maybe be of more help.
Aloha

Thanks for the headstock decal picture Andy, I've placed it on a server and it should be visable for all to see below this. I'd love to receive (and post) pics of the whole instrument too if you can take them. It looks very like the one on my woodbodied mandolin, I'll dig that one out and post it here too. I haven't any info, but am seeing Brozman on the 25th in Vancouver, so I'll 'question the oracle'.... Aloha

Thanks Colin. I certainly can take pics but to my eye it looks like a straight ahead tricone. No engraving, nothing I would not expect to find.
Bound fingerboard, contoured back.
I know Bob Brozman is the man when it comes to Nationals but does he keep tabs on copies too?
I'll get the pics sorted. Thanks for your help on this one.
best regards
andy
