An old pal of mine, hearing I've been a bit under the weather of late (I've had to pull out of a gig for the first time ever for health reasons ), has sent me some dietary recommendations which I feel I ought to share with all my forum chums. DIET FOR LOWER BLOOD PRESSURE (or to counter stress) This is a specially formulated diet designed to help cope with the stress that builds during the day BREAKFAST 1 Grapefruit 1 slice wholemeal toast 1 cup skimmed milk LUNCH 1 small portion lean, steamed chicken with a cup of spinach 1 cup herbal tea 1 biscuit AFTERNOON TEA The rest of the biscuits from the packet 1 tub of ice cream with chocolate topping DINNER 4 bottles of wine (red or white) 2 loaves garlic bread 1 family size Supreme pizza with side order of chips 3 chocolate bars LATE NIGHT SNACK 1 whole cheesecake (eaten directly from the freezer) REMEMBER : 'stressed' spelled backwards is 'desserts' My doctor tells me the way to achieve inner peace is to finish all the things you have started....... So I looked around my house to see things I'd started and hadn't finished; and, before leaving the house this morning to go to the offy, I finished off a bottle of Merlot, a bottle of Chardonay , a bole of Brandy, a butle of vidka, a pockage of biscuits , the mainder of bot Prozi c and Valum scriptins, the res of the Cheasescke, some saoz an a bax a cholates.. Yu haf no idr who gud I fel. (With friends like these... ;D ;D ;D) Cheerily, Gerry C

Hi Gerry, That looks like a condensed version of my weekend. After spending two months getting my weight & blood pressure down by dieting (starving), I went to my mates at the weekend to celebrate his 60th, talk about back to square one!
Anyway, I hope you get back to top form asap.

Hi Gerry sorry to hear you've not been too well. I am 2 or 3 years older than you, and I can tell you that the only cure is to buy another guitar. I have taken my own advice, I'm waiting for my MM Blues!
Until then, I'm still slidin' on the Ozark.
Sorting out some old vinyl in the loft the other day, came across a Mike Seeger album I haven't played for about 20 years. I put it on, and I thought the slide track 'Fisherman's Luck' would be a good song for you to do. I think your voice would suit it, also your slide style. Plus it's about WHISKEY!!!
Get well soon Frank

Thanks for the good wishes, everyone. Frank, I don't know the Seeger track - any chance of an mp3?
Cheerily,

Hi Gerry, see PM. Incidentally, according to the sleeve notes, the original was by the Dixon Brothers, haven't heard that version. Frank
