...so I though it would be the polite thing to say hello. I'm Andrew, live in Devon and have been playing guitar for around 40 years-mostly blues, bluegrass and some faux-celtic noodling. I've just reserved a Busker Deco from the next batch due and it would be nice to hear some comments from other owners; I haven't owned a metal-body resonator until now, just a Regal RD-45 'Dobro' a few years ago. Anyway I look forward to chatting.
Cheers A.

Andrew
The Busker deco is a wonderful tri-cone. It has a huge range of tones.
There is a video of mine on You Tube at 'northwestlondonblues' playing mine in Dm. The song is one of mine: Heathrow Airport Extension Blues. Even YouTube cant ruin the wonderful sound of the guitar. I think it's on this forum too, under my thread of 'My New Busker Deco' or similar.
Give it a listen and you get some idea of what even I can do with this guitar.

Barry Thanks Barry-I already spotted you whilst doing research on these gorgeous things! I'd be interested to know how they compare with a National tricone-at four times the price...

Thanks Michael; apart from a brief sojourn with a Regal 'dobro' my slide playing has been exclusively on flat-tops. My late friend, Sammy Mitchell, who was an exceptionally talented blues guitarist and played on many recordings by some of the world's greats, turned me on to resonators many years ago when old Nationals were the only-scarce and expensive-resos around. Playing back some of his recordings has fired-up my enthusiasm for the breed again so I need to get my chops up to speed!
All best Snakestretcher.

Hi Snakestretcher - let me add my welcome. Sammy Mitchell was one of the first guys I ever saw playing slide in the flesh - back in Liverpool in my college days. A while back I was in Liverpool visiting my son (he lives just off Sefton Park) and we made our usual pilgrimage to Hairy Records in Bold Street where I picked up a mint copy of Sam's Kicking Mule LP, Bottleneck/Slide Guitar, which is on my turntable at this very moment! He was a great player and a sad loss to all slide fans.
Cheerily,
Gerry C

Sadly he was a slave to his demons which contributed not only to his death but damaged his career prospects and kept him very much on the periphery of an already niche genre. Snake.
