My local guitar shop, without my permission, cut a hole in the top of my Epiphone Spider. Obviously I am horrified. Apart from the obvious, this was a present from my wife and though it is not a top class instrument it sounded nice and I was fond of it. The shop has agreed to replace it - but these guitars aren't made any more. What would be a comparable replacement? My feeling (I'm not an expert) is that the Epi is superior to the Ozark. Any views? The Regal Black Lightning looks great and seems a better swap, though I haven't played one yet. Any suggestions? Or where I might get another Spider?

The Black Lightning is a nice guitar, if they're offering one of those I'd take it. It's probably better than the Epi.

The Black lightening punches way above it,s weight, Quarterman cone light weight spider and art deco headstock! I had one last year and it was a great guitar. Regards Lee.
