Hi - It's Friday afternoon and I find myself moving into work avoidance mode (again!) ... browsing around on youtube listening to/looking at different things, I have another look at the fantastic Crooked Still version of 'Come on in my kitchen' that fitchmeister drew attention to on these pages a little while ago (thanks, Roj, a great version in my view - liked it straightaway, but it still managed to really grew on me over time).
Anyways, this starts me looking around at other versions and - following the recent surge of Allmans-related enthusiasm - I thought others here might also enjoy this:
But beyond this I was thinking, aside from the obvious, original and kind of incomparable work of the good Mr Johnson, there must be some other great versions out there - any particular favourites or high recommendations?
Whose kitchen, if ya had to choose?
Cheers, now let's see if I can get another hour's work done before the family return...
Dave

Steve Miller's version on "The Joker" album. Loved it back in the 70s when I had no idea who Robert Johnson was! You know how Hendrix approached "All Along The Watchtower" So different from the original and still really good? (Better in my book) Well, this also is an original cover and I still really like it all these years down the line. Great singing, good arrangement but hardly one for the traditionalists. Stevie.
