Hey Michael!! I'm curious about your reso-strings, anyone in Sweden that sells them?! Can I buy from you? I'd like to try them out.. Sounds very interesting with the "in picth with lower tension" BJ

Hi BJ
I can also recommend Strings Direct. Their prices are good and their delivery is swift, even to this far-flung corner of the earth! I have bought MM Nationals for my Regal RD45, MM Electric Slide Classics for my open-tuned electric, and more recently I have experimented with Newtone Nickel Masters for my standard-tuned electric (a Mexican Strat). They all sound absolutely fabulous. Shame about the quality of my playing!
All the best,
Joe (aka Mairena Red)

Johan, I use Messer Nationals 15 to 56 Phosphor Bronze (red packet) on my round neck Nationals, 16 to 59 on square neck Tricones, 16 18 26 36 46 56 on my Dobro. On my electric guitar I use Messer Electric Slide Classics 15 to 56, on my lap steel I use Messer Nationals Nickel 16 to 59 (blue packet). On my acoustic guitar I use Newtone Masterclass 12 to 54 gauge. That's about it! They are excellent strings. I am not saying that because my name is them, that is the reason my name is on them. They are literally hand-made in a small 3 man workshop; every string is hand-wound at low speed to avoid heat damage. The core is round, rather than hexagonal, and allows the string to tune to pitch at a slightly lower tension. This is only a slight difference, but it does help to make the guitar sound good. Anything hand-made is usually better than the factory version, it is the same with these strings. They are really good. Don Young (National Reso-Phonic Guitars) once said to me that he thinks they are the best he has ever tried. I have turned numerous players on to Newtone Strings. Shine On, Michael.
