OK, a furthery enquiry to you experts, if you'd be so kind - the guitar in question (Ozark woodbody single-cone) doesn't have a neckstick running thru the body, but it occurred to me that it would be possible/beneficial to add a couple of 'pitprops' between the (wooden) well-bottom & the guitar-back, to kinda lock the body-structure together & minimise vibration anywhere but the cone (which I understand to be optimal for these beasts); any thoughts, please ?

Hi Rick,
It is certainly worth trying as it can't do any harm. I am sure it will improve the sound and make the whole thing feel a bit more solid. Let us know how you get on.

It's difficult to give an opinion on this one. My view on wooden bodied resos is that the whole neck/top/soundwell assembly needs to be very rigid but there can be some benefit to the tone if you in allow the back to vibrate a bit. So it will depend on whether the top is built strongly enough in the first place (and it wouldn't surprise me if it wasn't). Like Michael says, it can't do any harm and will probably make it better.

Thanks, gents, am planning to drop in an upgraded cone over the next coupla weeks, so will try the mushroom-post experiment then, & will report back if there's any discernable tone/volume change - these things are great fun to play around with! ..
