Hello,
I've just finished cleaning up 79 years of grime from a 1930 Polychrome Triolian and I'm quite taken with the subtle blue and red highlights on the dark yellow paint. Down the road I may want to try to duplicate the look on a Triolian that's had it's finish removed. Is anyone able to tell me the process used to apply these highlights?
Thanks, Mike

Hi there !
I think they were sprayed on. Thought I'd mention though - I've seen 4 or 5 (new) attempts at the Polychrome finish in the past. All of them had the yellow paint way too yellow - like canary yellow - too intense - just not the right look. Try to find a real mustard type yellow - murky - with a strong hint of green.

Mr. Snakehips, I believe I've got the dark mustard / touch of green shade sort of perfected, and I agree about some modern attempts looking not quite right, but I find the blue and red highlights difficult to correctly replicate. Back to trial and error I suppose, but any and all hints would be appreciated. I'll post a photo of my 1930 Triolian as an example of what I'm trying to accomplish. Thanks, Mike
