Personal taste alert - I don't like the Hound Dog, I don't like the finish on them, I don't like the sound of them and I wouldn't buy one.
Do you want roundneck or squareneck? What kind of tone are you looking for? Blues is more usually associated with biscuit bridge metal bodied guitars, although you can play any kind of music on any kind of guitar and it's sometimes fun to confuse people by subverting their expectations.
However you've probably already got a sound in your head that you're looking for so my advice is the same as always, take a day trip to London, go to the London Resonator Centre and play everything you can get your hands on until you find one with a sound that you like.

Thanks LouisianaGrey London Reso Centre advises a look at the Goldtone PaulBeard signature. I love the sond of clapton on the unplugged Running on Faith number. I've played for years but just getting into resonator sounds. My vision is blues and country blues mix of fretted chords and bottleneck. A smooth sound - but a budget of £600 - £700 Hoping for some advice on where to look, to narrow down the options Best wishes Bruce
