Does anyone know much about Cort guitars? I was in a music shop this week and noticed a couple of things that seemed amazing value for money. Solid top and back for under £500, with Fishman electrics and black button grovers.

I bought a Cort acoustic for about £400 and a friend has one of their electrics. Both excellent value for the money. There are better guitars available - but nowhere near that price.

Hello Alan
Cort guitars are made for one of the British musical instrument distributors (JHS I think) in Korea. I did some work on one of these a few months ago for Guitar and Bass magazine, I was seriously impressed. The guitar I was working on had a retail price of something like £400, it had a pickup system that would cost you £300 in the UK .And made entirely from solid timber. I brought the guitar I was working on for my children,,,,

This is one of the ones that I had a look at. I looked at the pickup and it is exactly the same as the ones that are in Taylor guitars, before they had their Tayorsonic (or whatever they call it). £400 - £500 depending where you go. I think these are going to be second hand bargains. Any ideas what the nut and saddle are made of. Looked like Tusq - kind of ceramic like

Cort should use that quote in their advertizing...."I did some work on one of these a few months ago for Guitar and Bass magazine, I was seriously impressed. Praise indeed!
