Any recommendations for Acoutic preamps. I am using a schatten rg03 singlecone pickup in my guitar, problem is most of the time when I play anywhere I am going straight into the PA. Any recommendations on a good preamp to use?.

Hi Jimmy,
This is not an area that I can help you with. I maybe wrong, but I thought the Schatten pickups don't need pre-amps? When I plug in I use Highlanders which have their own pre-amps. Have you contacted Schatten to get their recommendation?

Hi,
No I havent tried Schatten. The Schatten is passive ,although I think they can have internal preamps, its ok with amps but just needs help with P. A. systems.

Hi there ! I can highly recommend the Fishman Pro-Eq Platinum Preamp/DI. A link I found from a US guitar shop : www.gollihur.com/kkbass/preamp-fishman-gtr.htmlYou could check out Fishman's own site though. It works great and has a great sound - a half decent EQ and stuff. A very useful feature is the ability to power the preamp via your PA's phantom power, instead of using the battery (instead of remembering to carry a spare 9V battery for it !!! ) The 9V battery is easily removed though - and replaced without needing to unscrewing anything !!) I also get a better sound using this preamp WITH my Highlander equipped National(s) going thru it after the Highlander battery box (which powers the guitar-internal Highlander preamp). Sometimes I can't be bothered using both though !! Has XLR output (as well as Jack) Very tough for gigging too.
