The neck on my national is wonderfull and chunky, but too big (depth not width) for shubb or keyser type capo's to work well or at all. For years Ive been using the cheap dunlop classics which do the job but arent brilliant. Does anyone know of a great capo for the job? Cheers Lee

Shubb makes a 12 string capo that I use on big neck guitars, but even that can be a squeeze on some necks. Same applies to the G7th 12 string capo. They are both good and are an option for big necks. If they don't work I guess a regular wrap-around-elastic-type capo will do the job.

I use a Dunlop trigger capo on my MM Blues which has a chunky neck.
The good things about these type of capo are;-
You can use them to partially capo
You can clamp them to the headstock when youre not using them
Even though the profile of the capo is slightly curved, it seems to work on flat fingerboards
