I was going thru my cds and came across several by these folks. Anybody ever heard them? My wife turned me on to them when we were still dating. Ann Rabson the piano player also has several solo cds out. She's a very good Piedmont style player in addtion to her piano playing. Some of the most original (if ribald) lyrics I've ever heard. If you get the chance check them out.

I haven't heard or seen them for a long time, but in the eighties they had quite a reputation. They were signed to Bruce Iglauer's Alligator Records, probably still are. They have made a lot of of records.
There was some talk a couple of years ago of Michael Roach bringing Gaye Adegbalola over to the UK for a Blues Week event to teach singing.

I managed to take the resouceful approach and check their website. This year is their 25th anniversary. They are going to release a cd, tour in support of it then disband. It's nice to see a group have such longevity.

Hi,
Also checked out their website and downloaded a few from iTunes. Some really good stuff. Thanks for the heads up.

Yeah, I can't help but chuckle every time I hear the song, "I'd Rather Be Alone (Than Be With You)."

I wish somebody would bring Gaye over. Her 'Silent Thunder In My heart' is one of the most heartbreaking songs I've heard (since Bonnie Raitt, anyway.)
