Hiya Robbie, Nice track for sure! Interesting too coz I've had it in mind to do something along those lines also...i.e. play some acoustic with maybe some percussion/bass etc. as a foundation and put a nice slide melody over the top...you've put me thinking sir!! Also the fact that you've used a Rode NT1A...nice mic...however I just sold mine on Saturday, largely due to lack of use...not because of any problems with the mic (quite the opposite actually), but just due to lack of time and effort on my part!! Although I have cheated a little coz the guy that I sold it to is also the guy with whom I'm most likely to be doing any recording work with anyway, so it's not too far away if I need it!! Niall

Hey Rob,
That's very kind of you regarding the MP3...I'd love to have a go for fun and a bit of a challenge...if you're happy to share your track that is?
Let me know and we can come to an arrangement about sending/receiving etc.
Best regards and thanks, Niall

Thanks for that Robbie!!
I think I've managed to download that ok...transferring it to home and onto something with which I can record might take a small bit of figuring out...technology is great, but it's also the reason that I've nearly given up on anything that involves wires or cables or interfaces etc (enough of that at work!!)...the more complicated things got in my 'studio', the less time spent actually playing the bloody guitar!! Oh the joys of a simple reso!!! Anyways, what I'm trying to say is, I've slimmed down my home recording set-up quite a bit, but I should still be able to work something out with this track no problem...just need to figure out how! Looking forward to it and I'll get back to ya as soon as I've done something!!
Thanks bud!
Niall

What is Rapid Share all about? I just went to listen to Robbie's mp3 and was confronted with two speedos and a price list of various downloads. I gave in!
I think I'll stick to....using the Dobro.

Ahh...well there you have it...despite my blah blah about the technology, how else could it happen that you, Robbie, all the way over there in Middlesborough, and me Niall, all the way over here in West Cork in Ireland could, within hours if not minutes, set up a little recording project??!!! ;D
MM...Rapidshare is one of them there filesharing things that I don't really understand either...but when you go onto the site, click on the free-user button and it should download the MP3 to your desktop, or at the least should start playing it automatically...after that I'm lost!!
Regards guys, Niall

OK MM ...............straight trade I'ii explain rapidshare and you tell me where or how to post pictures on the forum ................only joking
rapidshare is simple to use ( it has to be for me to be able to use it ) first post the link into your search bar secondly hit the free button and wait for the count down ( approx 30 seconds or so ) last the download button appears ,,,just click on that.....job done
rapidshare I believe is the largest provider of "stuff " so mabye its not a bad one to get to know
and thanks for your info on the spider to biscuit conversion, but in truth I think I will go for a national style 14 fret when I get the dobro sold and save a bit of cash up ( its a right bugger being a pensioner )
regards as ever robbie
