Hi All, If you like the idea of a pleasant evening surrounded by the sound of half a dozen 1930s Nationals and great vocals, National Steel ( www.lemonrock.co.uk/nationalsteel) are playing their début gig at the Belle Vue, 42 Gordon Road, High Wycombe, tonight, Saturday, from 9:00 till 11:00. Aloha, Marshcat

Thanks for the good wishes, Colin! It was a great first gig. The Belle Vue is a different venue: a cosy little pub with a not very belle view over the railway line to the town ... but we still managed to shoehorn 3 tricones, 2 Triolians, a Duolian and a Delphi into it! Even smaller gig venue coming up: the Retreat in Reading on Thursday 4 September

Shame I couldn't be there Stuart! Rather a long way from Paris. I would love to see your playing, new partner (nice vocal) and vintages "Nash'nal"... Wish you all the best, Pascal

Hi Stuart & Lewis, I hope it works out and you gets lots of gigs. You and one or two others called National Steel have added to the list of National band names....National Gallery, National Breakdown Service, National Debt. I am surprized that nobody has gone for National Treasure yet! Everything I do in the near future will have LIGHTNING in the title Shine On Michael

"SPARK COMICS is proud to present 'FLASH' LIGHTNING. Robert Morgan (aka Michael M)was given great powers by the Old Man of the Pyramids. to fight crime as "Flash" Lightning. In this episode, he fights the evil dictator trying to take over America from his flying fortress hidden in the clouds."

More band name suggestions: National Grid, National Service, National Crimewave, National Collection (or does Bob Brozman have that one?!), National Union, National Disaster (I'm saving that one for me when I finally get a National!) etc
And let's not forget the bluegrass band made up entirely of members of the Simpson family - the Springfield D'oh! Bros...
Apologies: I've not been well...
Shamelessly,
Gerry C

The Simpsons angle got me thinking... about Bob Wills and Milton Brown, etc.
One for you, Michael: the Lightning Crust Dough Boys ;D
