Hiya all
Just asking, me and my Buddy are looking for playing at a fast on/off Open Mic soon again.
Any advice gratefully appreciated.
He plays finger picking acoustic guitar (bare fingers) amped through speakers. I’m on Fiddle Edge and slide & finger pick (with picks) with a Krivo pick up, last time the guitars worked but the Fiddle Edge dominated and swamped the other musician. Three songs and off, was too quick for us to adjust.
So, I was looking to the acoustic guitar player through amp & finger picked as before, he will be very happy with that, BUT not adding the Krivo to the Fiddle Edge at all (I didn’t enjoy playing with it on).
Question: should I play the Fiddle Edge without voice mic? just as it is; it’s a quite audience in a bigger area than the other upstairs room/bar at Pockie, to allow the acoustic guitar & singer up in volume? OR set voice amp set up 30cm away to pick up Fiddle Edge? OR just take a Hail Mary shot on the night?
thank you for reading. Steve with the Relic Fiddle Edge and loving it.
P.S. I understand not pointing voice amp direct in the cone. And because there is no on stage monitor the area we are sat in is very quiet, so much so I shouted to my Mrs can you it at the back?.
