Hi all
Hope that this is the appropriate area of the forum to post.
I have a flat back Oakwood mandolin and I’m looking to get a pick up installed in it.
Firstly, if any of you guys have a mando with a pick up in it, which one do you recommend I use? Secondly, can anyone recommend someone in the North-East of the UK where I could get it installed once I’ve chosen the appropriate pick up.
Thanks
Andy

Hi there ! Not sure if he is still around, but how about Jimmy Moon, in Glasgow ? Hi Snakehips Thanks for your help. At the moment I am looking into getting an LR Baggs Radius which I can attach myself. As an aside, I’ve watched some of your YouTube videos recently and thoroughly enjoyed them. You play with a lot of passion and heart! I can tell you love a National too! Best wishes Andy

Kate Phillips AKA GuitarKes, based at Robin Hood's Bay, is the only person I recommend in the North East. Kate is one of the UK's finest guitar repairers and restorers. www.facebook.com/guitarkes/?locale=en_GBShine On Michael

Doh !!!! I don't know WHY I thought of Glasgow, when you said north east !!!!!!!!! In Edinburgh, there is a very good luthier I use sometimes - Chris McIntyre. He use to work in Denmark Street, in London, but came back up to his home country after many years. I've had him install some pickups - including K&K pickups to a few guitars, AND refit (correctly) a poorly installed Highlander under-saddle piezo pickup in a v expensive custom-build long-scale 12 string guitar I had made some years back (amongst other issues that needed correcting !). He has a small workshop round the back of the Hibs football stadium. www.mcintyreguitars.com/
