Hi, This is my first time posting on the forum. I hope this is the right place to post this? I have always a had a fascination with resonators, and in 1995 when my grandparents died, my lovely parents used some of the inheritance money to buy me my dream guitar - a National Resophonic Style O. Dream come true! They had an American friend of ours source one when when he went back home, and then they imported it for me. Unfortunately, I was newly married, my wife fell pregnant with our first child and then our car died. We needed a new car, and we were broke. The only thing of value I had was the National, so I sold it for £1200 to a friend called Kim who lived in the Chandler's Ford area of Eastleigh. He also owned a NRP Delphi. I had the idea that when I could, I'd buy it back, but he eventually sold it and I lost touch with him. This is a long shot, but in case it's hiding under somebody's bed somewhere, I'd love to know where it ended up. Pic included, but for some reason it looks a bit small You most likely know what a Style O looks like anyway but it had a characteristic black finish on the neck and headstock and the light blue National badge that NRP were using at the time. I don't know the serial number. Any news, please let know. Did you or anyone you know buy a mid-90's Style O from someone in the Eastleigh area in the late 90's or early 2000's? Kind Regards to all, Andrew

Thank you snakehips. That's identical to the one I had, and gorgeous. I was really looking to see if anyone knew where my old guitar went. I know the chances are very, very slim at best! Thanks!

Hi again !
I had a 1996 NRP Delphi from new, for about 10yrs. I sold it to an English guy, living in Italy, who later sold it to a guitarist in Sweden (bandmate of Bert Deivert, a MM Forum member). As far as I know, he still has it. Would be cool to see & play it again. One of the loudest reso guitars I ever owned.

Hi Bert,
I remember when I bought that guitar, in Evanston, a suburb of Chicago. Played it for about 3hrs one day in the shop. Went back the next day & played it for about 1 1/2hrs, still lusting over it. Then I was in New Orleans for a month, on a student exchange thing, at the LSU Dental school. Then I flew back to Chicago for a few days before my return flight back to Edinburgh Scotland. While still in Chicago, I went back to the guitar shop and played the Delphi for another 2hrs - then decided to buy it. The shop-keeper joked that I’d played it so much already he’d have to sell it to me “used” !! The shop also had a brand new Style O, and a Polychtome Triolian, but the Delphi “spoke” to me - and was thenonly one I JUST had enough money for !
I’ve always wanted to compare the cone in it with later non-hot-rod cones and hot-rod cones. I think the cone might be earlier than most of the later non hot-rod cones. Sounded like Son House’s National on the 1965 Columbia sessions, when I had it. Always wondered if I’d still think that now, now having more experience playing lots of NRP’s and vintage Nationals.
All the best to you and Janne

All the best to you and Janne I have a 2003 Delphi.Swapped the cone to a hot rod,but it didn’t do that much of a difference, the original cone is great, don’t know if they had the same cones in 96 though. After experimenting with strings and tunings as we all do i settled with New tones nickel 16-59 tuned down to C and that really opened the guitar up,amazing sounding.
