The bridge on this (very) cheap acoustic has popped off. . Usually I would expect the glue between the bridge and top to part but it held fine ( though it would have been better if they had gone to the edge of the bridge) It was the glue between the laminations of the top that failed! This is a £30 guitar that needs £50s worth of work. Hopefully, with some epoxy resin and a couple of bolts I can do it for less, it was the owners first guitar and has sentimental value Pete Normally , if I was given a guitar like this I might turn it into a resonator, because of the low neck angle it would take too much work. Also it would always be a cheap neck and thin ply body The best donors for a reso conversation are old Eko guitars. They are made of heavy ply and many have screw on necks, so the angle is easy to adjust .

If it wasn't for the sentimental value, I would suggest turning it into kindling. 🔥🪵

Yes, there is some damage to the bridge plate which will need reenforcing ( replacement would be very expensive/time consuming). Michael’s diagnosis is the best way forward, the owner thinks otherwise, so I will get the glue out. Pete

Hi Pete. When making up guitars for the grandkids I have 'overcome' this problem with the addition of a tailpiece. Looks pretty too!
