You don't get many of these - this a video of a Mule 12 string, with some nice playing. Is the final part of the playing a Messer/Mitra piece? It sounds familiar.

Sounds great, thanks for posting.
Yes I think the final part is from Bhupali Blues...

That is a beautiful sound. Makes me wonder why 12 string resonators haven't had a higher profile.

I had a very nice Amistar 12 string that I moved on to a gigging musican. I think that they might not be popular because they are a bit of a handful! Mine was a tricone sounded great and I did have fun tracking it down over a couple of years but my playing ability didn't do it justice. 😮💨😮💨 Saying that if another turned up.......

The only decent sounding 12-string reso I have heard is MM's Havana, none of the others come near this. As to the mule, to my ears it and its 6 string brothers sounds like an amplified dustbin. However, it's all in the ears and some people seem to like that sound, why not, it's their money.

My money? If I bought every guitar I liked the sound of, I'd have more than Keith Richards.

I had forgotten about this video until tonight... This interview was filmed in 2003 I think. It was part of a series of films called 'Gourmet Guitars'
I haven't said 'thank you' to Andy because I am not sure which guitar and player he is talking about, and it would be presumptuous to assume it's mine.

Hi Michael
My apologies, my original message was about the sound and playing of the Mule 12-string in that video. I hadn’t watched your Mitra video at that point. I sure have now!
I really enjoyed watching Mitra and your 12-string resonator playing sounds superb. What a great collaboration!
I’m relatively new to the forum but I’ve spent many happy hours reading back on old threads. Great guitar stories by great enthusiasts. I love it here. Thanks for having me.
Cheers
Andy

Some years ago I converted an old Eko 12 string into a reso. It was before I had a digital camera, so I have no photos of it. The neck was 14 frets to the body, but this put the cone too far up the guitar, so I made it a 12fret to the body . It had a flamed wood top, which looked very like koa ( in fact it was sweet chestnut)
If anyone see it I would love to know how it’s doing, and what it sounds like after 10-15 years. Pete

Cheers Andy Hi Andy You have nothing to apologise for. Thank you for your kind words. That video was made at our first performance together in 2013. Since then we have made an album and done around 100 shows together. We will be back out on the road again in June 2024. I am not commenting on the Mule as I don't comment on other manufacturers, but you are not hearing the raw recording, it has reverb and a bit of EQ added to give it that amount of room sound. The video of me talking about the National Havana does not have any post production effects, that really is the sound of the guitar. My 12 string National Havana will be around in the coming weeks as it is the main guitar on my new single that is released on Friday. You are most welcome as a member of our community on here. Some of the old threads are great and it really is worth going back through the years. There's a lot of information on here that would be hard to find elsewhere. Shine On Michael

Hi Everyone, there's a young lady by the name of Sarah Rogo, I am a fan of hers and she has an amazing National 12 string raw brass resonator. There are a couple u tube videos of it. The title of one video is"Shadows by Sarah Robot Gems in the rough". I don't know how to post videos on this forum, but I just wanted to share thanks, Chuck
