I had not come across this ‘make’ before, so when one came up on gum tree close to me I thought I would have a look ( it looked good in the pics and at the moment I don’t have a spider bridge acoustic)
It looked ok, though the screens are a little far apart if you are used to ‘proper’ Dobros. Typical fairly well finished Far Eastern guitar.
However, it sounded dull and very quiet.
So why was it quiet? The saddle was a standard guitar plastic one, so you could not adjust the centre cone/spider screw, it was also very low. The break angle was very low ( neck reset needed?) The cone had spirals pressed in it, like a ‘Continental ‘ why I don’t know . The strings were ‘resonator strings’ which I guess were designed for high bass ( it was in open G)
If you see one of these check the break angle, fit a new cone and saddle ( if it doesn’t need a reset) and it will probably sound ok. Pete
