It's in D Spanish. Guitar tuned to G Spanish - use the bottom string (D) to start the riff, and 7th fret (D chord) followed by 12th.fret for the G chord. Give me a ring if you need any more. PD.

Yes in D on an open G guitar. It’s very easy to play the basic rhythm , but it depends on if you are playing alone or with a bass or other instruments what you ( or Keb on the 2 recordings I listened to ) do.
If on your own, then you could keep some rhythm on the bottom string to start with while going between the 7th and 5 th frets on slide . 4+3 strings on the 7th , down to 3rd +2nd on the 5th then up to 3rd and 2nd on the 7th, back to the 5th fret then repeat the first 3.
Or you can play a sort of Elmore James backing with open bottom D and 2nd fret to 4th of the low G, then to the G and ( eventually) the A on the 5th+6th Strings
Hope that’s enough to get you started ( and I have guessed the fingering used!) Pete

Here is a video I just found of Keb' playing it solo. It is a pretty straightforward piece played as PD and Pete have said.
Watch Keb' closely and you should get a feel for how he plays it.
Playing in the key of D out of the G tuning is very nice for certain types of pieces, especially 3 chord shuffles because all 3 chords fall very close together so you hardly have to move your left hand.
I think you should start by just playing the D shuffle using the bottom two strings and the D chord, just like Keb is doing. Get that shuffle going and then think about the rest of it.
Spend some time with this video and then see how you're doing. Happy to help further if you are stuck. Just ask.

Hiya all
I’ve never heard this song before, interesting.
Forgive me for asking (sorry if it’s a daft question) but I’ve not really noticed songs in Open G, playing in the key of D and the 6th string being used.
Are there many other similar?
I might have a look at this, even if I don’t get far it is worth a go?
Kind regards Steve
