This is long, it is also excellent. Daniel Landis is one of the masters of making records.
Daniel Lanois is a Canadian musician, producer, and songwriter who has made an indelible mark on the music industry. He first gained recognition in the 1980s for his innovative production techniques, which blended traditional and electronic instrumentation, and for his collaborations with visionary musician and producer Brian Eno. Together, they created seminal ambient albums such as "Apollo: Atmospheres and Soundtracks" and "Thursday Afternoon."
Lanois' impressive discography includes producing some of the most iconic albums of the past few decades, including U2's "The Joshua Tree and Actung Baby, Peter Gabriel's "So," and Bob Dylan's "Time Out of Mind." He has also worked with a diverse range of artists, such as Emmylou Harris, Neil Young, Robbie Robertson and Willie Nelson. In addition to his work behind the scenes, Lanois has released several solo albums that have garnered critical acclaim and has been recognized with numerous awards for his contributions to music, including seven Grammy Awards and induction into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame in 2005. He continues to create innovative music and inspire others with his unique sound, which blends rock, folk, and ambient elements in unexpected and captivating ways. Lanois' influence on the contemporary music scene is undeniable, and his work will undoubtedly continue to inspire future generations of musicians and producers.

Totally agree, Daniel Lanois as transformed a lot of high profile musicians careers with beautifully crafted works of art. I saw this interview a while back and great that you brought it to this forums attention. Some producers really do know what they are doing. Excellent watch. Highly recommended!
