I love this. Wonderful to see young people turning on to playing slide on Mohan veenas! There is a video on Facebook of them all playing, but it won't link to the forum The students have student models with less sympathetic strings and no harmony strings. Oh and the teacher is holding a Chaturangui ....more playing strings and more sympathetic and harmony strings Shine On Michael

Those interesting instruments looks like modified archtops (like some Indian Big Joe Williams has messed with them). By the way, I don't know much of an Indian music and only two bluesmen who have tried to combine it with the blues come to my mind - Taj Mahal and Michael Messer.

I love these photos of mini Mohan veena students standing proudly with their guitars. These photos remind me of those pictures of American Hawaiian guitar students in the 30s, 40s and 50s. Shine On Michael

One name you missed was Derek Trucks, his early work has lots of Indian influences. Pete And Ry Cooder, Could Brian Jones qualify with his sitar on Paint it Black? The Stones did call themselves a blues band in the early years.
