I have a Gretch honey dipper and with the dented cone and Gretch will not help me get a replacement and I noticed that Michael you were able to help somebody else with getting a cone replacement I was wondering if you could help me out with that because I'm in the same boat as you probably seen before

Hello badblair, Welcome to our friendly forum.
This is a really difficult situation for me because (a) I don't sell cones or any other accessories. (b) I appear to have become one of my competitors' spare parts supplier, and (c) the only reason you are here is because you want me to supply you with parts for your Gretsch. So I am sure you and everyone else can see how this feels from where I'm sitting. What I really want to say is that I cannot supply you the part you are asking for, but as you already worked out before joining the forum, that is not how I roll.
I will supply you with a new cone for your Gretsch guitar and if Mr Gretsch ever reads this, I hope he realises that one drawer of spares in each country is all he needs to fulfil his customers needs, but we all know that Mr Gretsch doesn't actually care about his customers after he's got their money and that he will never do that. His distributor in London has already made that quite clear.
They are the world's biggest selling budget priced resonator guitars and they don't give a flying f*** about their customers.
I am really sorry to say what I have said, but sadly it is true.
I will send you a cone next week. It will cost £45.00 plus delivery.
You are most welcome to be a part of our community.

I have changed a (dented) Gretsch cone for one of Michael’s they look very similar, and I think are the same size. In fact,if I was going on looks alone, I would say the Gretsch looked better pressed ( the cones are ‘spun’ then the spiral pattern is pressed on) but the Gretsch cones keep failing you probably know there have been several on the forum .
I would encourage anyone who sees a Gretsch in a music shop to ask if they can buy it IF the shop will provide a spare Gretsch cone. This might get back to the wholesaler who might get back to the suppler who might get back to head office. If they think they are loosing sales something might get done.....( awful lot of ‘mights’) ... I’m of to my local store to try one out and ask about cones ................ Pete

Easier to buy one of MM's guitars then you wouldn't have these problems! (Not you Pete!)

Gretsch cones are manufactured (spun) by a CNC machine. They might well have been copied from the ones I use and look identical, but they are not the same.
Pete, you a right about what you say, but the company doesn't care and won't change its policies.
I am happy to supply badblair with a cone, but I really think I have to start saying no to people about this. It is ridiculous that I am supplying their UK customers with spares.

From what I am reading the National will fit - as mentioned earlier - with 1/4" difference in height- I posted a video of that earlier. You might need to height adjust the bridge/saddle component depending on the model.
Here's a video of someone who did replace and luckily did not need to do any work on the saddle/bridge. The person was lucky and didn't have to do work on the bridge/saddle which he mentions as a concern around the 5 minute mark: If one is handy and willing it's an alternative way to go.
